A worked example

Say you've got 12 lads heading to Prague for 2 nights at a heavy pace. The maths: eight pints and three shots a head, each night, at roughly £1.80 a pint; two group dinners; one big activity; club entry; and taxis there and back. The tool lands on a total weekend spend around £1,400–£1,500 and a suggested kitty of about £120 per person. Do the same sum for London and you're closer to £250 a head — which is exactly why picking the city first matters.

Frequently asked

How much should a stag do kitty be per person?

For a two-night trip at a heavy pace, most groups pool between £100 and £200 per head for drinks, food, one activity and taxis — more in expensive cities like London, Dublin or Amsterdam, less in Prague, Krakow or Newcastle. Use the calculator above for your exact numbers.

What should the kitty cover?

Keep the kitty for shared spend: rounds, shots, group meals, club entry and taxis. Book flights and accommodation separately and split those up front — pooling them just causes confusion.

How do you collect the kitty?

Collect it before you go, in one lump, via a group payment app or bank transfer. Chasing cash on the night is how best men lose their minds. Round the per-person figure up to a clean number and keep the change as a buffer.

Is this accurate for going abroad?

The figures are indicative GBP-equivalents based on what stag groups actually spend on the ground, not tourist rack rates. Add a little for a weak pound or a boat party, and always keep a contingency.

Do I have to enter my email?

No. The result appears instantly. There's an optional 'email me this budget' button if you want a copy — that's the only time we'd ask, and it's entirely up to you.
